2018 SWFL FALL HS SHOWCASE – Sept 25, 2018

The SWFL Showcase will enter its 25th year as the premier Showcase event for Southwest Florida players. The SWFL Showcase has had numerous ML players play in the event and this year looks even better than ever with 14 players already committed to play baseball in college attending.
The Showcase will start at 4pm with the 60 yard dash and move forward with BP, I/O and a 6:10 game time start. The schedule of events and rosters are listed below. Come out to beautiful Swanson stadium on the FGCU campus and enjoy the future stars of the game.
Schedule of events:
3:30 – players check in – receive jerseys.
4pm – 60 yard dash
4:20 – National – Navy BP
4:50 – American – White BP
5:25 – National I/O
5:40 – American I/O
6:10 – Game time

Southwest Florida Baseball Fall Invitational – September 14-16, 2018

The 20th annual SWFL Invitational will be held September 14-16, 2018 at Terry Park and the Player Development Complex-PDC. The Invitational is an opportunity to play baseball in a relaxed professional atmosphere. It’s a 3 game round robin event that is well attended by College Coaches who can resume recruiting and Pro Scouts who want to see the players. The SWFL Invitational Showcase on September 14 is a good opportunity to measure your skills and be seen by College coaches.

September 14, 2018 – SWFL Showcase – The SWFL Showcase is an open showcase for all players in the 2019, 2020, and 2021 classes. It’s a great opportunity for all players participating in the SWFL Invitational to be seen by College coaches in a workout setting before the games begin.

When: Friday, September 14th, 2018

Who: Open to all Class of 2019, 2020 & 2021 prospects.
Where: Terry Park 3410 Palm Beach Blvd. Fort Myers, FL 33916

Position Players: No pitching at this Showcase.
Check-in at 3:45pm – all players must be registered by Friday September 14 at 10am. Please register at www.SWFLBaseball.com Showcase will include 60, BP and defensive segment.

Returning SWFL 2019 graduates – $50

All other participants – $125

Confirmed Colleges: Embry Riddle U, Florida Southern College, Florida Gulf Coast U, Eckerd College, Florida SouthWestern State College, Pasco Hernando College and 2-4 more Colleges will be announced at a later date.

SWFL 17U Grey captures Perfect Game Florida State Championship

img_03511The Southwest Florida Baseball 17U Grey team won the Perfect Game Florida State Championship behind good pitching, situational hitting and a patient approach at the plate. Troy Bacon pitched 6 innings of 1 run baseball, Thaddeus Ward threw 2 scoreless innings and Jose Valmana picked up the win with 1 inning of scoreless relief. Read more

SWFL 16U wins PG Championship

SWFL 16U scored f101ive in the third and went on to beat SF Elite Squad Louisville Slugger 16U. Garrett Zech (2015, Naples, FL) led the offense with three hits including a triple and two RBI’s. Jacob Silverstein (2015, Seminole, FL) pitched in with two singles. Troy Bacon (2015, Sickles, FL) helped out his team with a double and an RBI. Brandon Hernandez (2015, Royal Palm Beach, FL) went 1 for 3 with a double and three RBI’s. Shane McClanahan (2015, Cape Coral, FL) pitched five innings and struck out five. He allowed three hits and walked just one batter. Conor Roe (2015, Gulf Coast, FL) threw the last two innings. He struck out three and allowed just one walk.

Andrew Gotfried (2015, Calvary Christian, FL) led the Slugger’s offense with two singles. Daniel Reyes (2015, Mater Academy, FL) hit a triple in the loss
