SWFL partners with Pro’s Select for summer try-outs
Southwest Florida Baseball will hold their summer try-outs during the Pro’s Select Collegiate Clinic January 10-11, 2015 at the Player Development Complex in Fort Myers.
The Clinic will feature 16 College Coaches and will have an instructional element to the 2 day event. “The Coaches will be there to assist and evaluate the players, it’s a working environment for all of the Coaches.” said SWFL Co-founder and Colorado Rockies Area supervisor John Cedarburg. “It allows the Coaches to interact and get to know the players and to figure out if they want to possibly recruit the player”
The 2 day clinic will be held at the old Boston Red Sox minor league facility or the Player Development Complex as it’s now called. “It’s a beautiful facility and perfect for what we’re trying to accomplish. The cages, the batting tunnels and obviously the fields are in great shape to get all of the planned activities in” said Cedarburg. Saturday will feature drills and Coaches’ tips on baseball and the process of getting to college. Sunday will have a Pro style work-out and games. Lunch is included both days.
The cost of the clinic is $299 for the Holiday Season, the rate will go up to $350 after January 2 and if a player makes one of the SWFL 15U, 16U or 17U teams, a portion of their clinic fees will go towards their summer fees.
The clinic hotel is the Courtyard by Marriott in Fort Myers and will host the early check in for players on Friday January 9 from 4-8pm for those that want to get their gear and be ready for the morning. “All the Coaches will be in the hotel, it’s a very nice hotel for our out of town players.” said Cedarburg.
